If your RV didn’t come equipped with a washing machine, there are still plenty of ways to keep your clothes clean during extended RV trips. From handwashing to laundry services, check out these options for washing on the go.
Handwash
A simple way to clean clothes while RVing is to handwash them. Use your RV’s sink or a plastic tub with warm water and a teaspoon or two of detergent. Leave your clothes to soak, or gently agitate them by hand or using a wash board. Rinse with clean water and hang to dry.
To make air-drying a breeze, bring along a foldable drying rack or a rope and clothes pegs to make a clothes line.
Make use of On-site Laundry Facilities
Campground laundry facilities are a useful amenity on long trips. Bring along an assortment of change for coin-operated machines, and be sure to inspect and wipe out the machines before use.
Local Laundry Mat
If you’re staying in or near a town, pop in to the local laundry mat. Many will even offer full service, so you can simply drop off your dirty clothes and get back to your holiday.
Pack a Portable Washer
There are many portable options for washing on the go, with both electric options and hand crank washing machines available.
